Found: KIMCHI on a Sunday

Ta da! I found you, asian supermarkets...! After mountains of bread chaque semaine, I was hankering for kimchi and white rice, so after some expert Googling, I headed out into the crisp cool air. I've been cresting the hump of being sick, but needed to get out at least once during the day for some brisk walking and productivity. Metro: Palais Royal, Musee du Louvre (2eme)

The streets are generally empty except for the occasional gathering outside periodic Japanese restaurants. The second quarter houses the Japanese and small Korean district of Paris. Because most stores and restaurants are closed on Sundays, Parisiens tend to get their ethnic food in on Sundays, where things are still open.
The goods: CHECK OUT THAT KIMCHI ON THE RIGHT. All in all, a good haul. Total spent: 41 euros (cc).
I wanted someone to take a photo of me with the bags, but felt bashful, so next time I'll man up and do it.
Empty streets!

I ended up getting back to the apartment around 5pm. The walk from the metro was particularly exhausting with the heavy bags, therefore I fell into a deep flu-induced slumber after a meal of fruit, fish, and chocolate. I feel like an incubator of germs... so I'm trying to quickly get over being a little sicko. Sweatpants are a given, of course. Here's a sample of what I've been doing with all my time in pajamas/bed: How to Cook Rice Without a Rice Cooker; daunting... There's nothing worse than under- or over-cooked rice. Certainly makes me miss my mom's spicy pork, my rice cooker, and letting Justin bbq the kalbi. I miss my grandma's homemade kimchi and my grandmom's (dad's side) Southern banana bread recipe. *sigh* It's good to be biracial in multicultural America!
