Ma Chambre (c'est cozy!)

Tada! Here's my cute little room. Mme de Pimodan and I had a wonderfully long dinner of oven baked salmon in an amazing little dish of fresh tomatoes. These are the same tomatoes she picked while traipsing around her country villa a few days ago from the garden. I explained to her that I have a black thumb (i'm sure of it) while she has a green thumb. Dinner was taken with green beans, fresh baguette, and a crisp green salad with just a dash of vinegar. Afterwards there was a fresh fruit salad (of fruits she had also picked), fromages, and yogurt of course for me. After dinner she told me I'm easy to live with and even gave me a kiss on the cheek!!! Bien sur! She's so adorable!

These dinners are really good lessons in manners and French behavior. The table settings are very important, as are table manners. As I become more accustomed to eating with the fork in my left hand, I find it a lot more functional and logical. I also really like taking the salad at the end of the meal instead of before. My favorite part of all is of course, the cheese and yogurt. I'm undeniably lactose-intolerant, yet submit myself to the tortures of bodily rejection nearly everyday. I can handle about 1 yogurt's worth of dairy per day, but clearly go above and beyond this limit often. Thank god for lactaid? Actually, it's not very effective for me...sadly.

11pm approaches. I passed out last night around 10pm, slept decently (but not well enough) so after class took a 2-hr nap or something like that...Finally feel back to normal!

PS. When you take cheeses after the dinner, you start with the softest first and end with the hardest...whodda thunk it???
